BLAZONING OF THE KUNZ COAT OF ARMS
BLAZON (Wappen der Familie Kunz):
ARMS (Shield):

Per fesse, gules over azure, a slender fillet argent debruising the partition; the first charged with a tanner's knife supporting three acorns of the last, stems to chief, the second charged with a rose of the third.
CREST (Helmet):
On a torse of the colors a cross ancree between a vol.
MANTLE (Decken):
Not deScribed (Mantling is seldom deScribed and usually takes the Tinctures of the Shield)

MOTTO:
None Recorded (It is rare for the German Achievement to deScribe a Motto)

REFERENCE SOURCE:
Wappenbuch Von 1605 by Johann Siebmacher BG. 12, PG 48, TAF. 68.

ARMS (Shield) INTERPRETATION:
Per Fesse, - (Means the Shield is divided in half Horizontally - Fesse or Fess is the Horizontal one third portion of the Shield, taken at the center (Per fess just means "By the Fess"))
Gules over Azure - (Means Red on Blue or Red over Blue, so the top portion of the Shield is Red and the bottom portion is Blue.
A Slender - (Means thinner/narrower than the usual portion)
Fillet - (Means a thin Band - actually a Fillet is an early diminutive (smaller (fifth to third size) rendition) of the Chief which was placed across the honor point but is no longer used (as the Chief is no longer considered to have a diminutive)
Argent - (Means The slender, thin Band is Silver (Argent=Silver (Depicted as White))
Debruising the Partition. - (Means, So far, we pretty much have a slender-thin, Silver Band (Fillet) positioned horizontally across the center (partition) of the Shield - the placement of the Fillet had to be specifically deScribed (by the Scribe), as its natural position is usually just below the Chief (which would have put it slightly higher up)).
The first - (Means the Red (Gules=Red (1st color mentioned)) portion of the Shield will be deScribed next)
Charged with a Tanner's Knife Supporting Three Acorns of the last - (Means that a Silver (of the last (last color mentioned (Argent (Argent=Silver))) Tanner's Knife with three Acorns on top of it is placed on the Red portion of the Shield).
Stems to Chief - (Means that the stems of the Acorns are positioned up into the "Chief" (The "Chief" is the Top Third of the Shield)).
The second Charged with a Rose of the third - (Means that the Blue (bottom portion (2nd color mentioned)) of the Shield has a Rose (an Heraldic Rose) placed on it which is colored Silver (3rd color mentioned)).

CREST (Helmet) INTERPRETATION:
On a Torse of the colors (Means the next thing deScribed will go upon a cloth wreath (Torse) of 6 twists, alternating between the primary tinctures (Red & Silver (the Colors))
A Cross Ancree between a Vol. - (Means that the Crest has a Cross that is of an Ancree (Anchor) type (similar to a "Moline" or "Recercely" Cross but with exagerated split and splayed ends, terminating in Anchor tips) and is positioned between a pair of uplifted wings that are conjoined at the base; these wings are called a Vol. Note: because the tincture(s) for the Cross & Vol were not specifically deScribed, the Primary & Secondary Tinctures (Silver, Red & Blue) are usually used but this is just a general rule and is often deviated from. This Crest is then affixed, by the Torse (together with the Mantling), to the Helmet (which is properly drawn as a "Bürgerliche" (Esquire/Commoner/Citizen) Helmet (In profile with closed visor or with no Visor nor Grilles))

SYMBOLISM:
Acorns - (Antiquity and strength)
Cross - (Symbolic of some Christian experience or sentiment)
Rose (White) - (Love and faith)
Vol (Wings) - (Swiftness and protection, celebrity, or coverture)
Colors:
Argent (Silver or White) - (Peace and sincerity)
Azure (Blue) - (Loyalty and truth)
Gules (Red) - (Military fortitude and magnanimity)

Above Blazon (written description) only applies to large Emblazon (drawing).
