Per Fess - (Means the Shield is divided in half horizontally (by the Fess))
Azure & Or - (Means the Shield is Blue (Azure) on top and Gold (Or) on the bottom half)
an Oak Log proper upon the first - (Means the first half of the Shield has an Oak Log upon it that is colored golden, as it would naturally appear (Proper))
two Pilgrims Staves in saltire of the first upon the latter - (Means the second half (bottom) of the Shield has Two Blue (of the 1st) crossed (in Saltire) Pilgrims Staves upon it)

CREST (Helmet) INTERPRETATION:
Non - (Means no known Crest was deScribed to be affixed by the Torse (wreath of cloth with 6 twists, alternating between the primary tinctures) together with the Mantling, to the Helmet, which is drawn in Profile with the Visor closed, or with no Visor nor Grilles - the kind used by a "Bürgerliche" (Esquire/Commoner/Citizen))
