MANTLE (Decken):

REFERENCE SOURCE:
Armorial General by J.B. Rietstap
ARMS (Shield) INTERPRETATION:
Azure - (Means the Shield is Blue (Azure=Blue))
three fesses argent - (Means 3 Silver (Argent=Silver) colored Fesses (Horizontal Strips) are added to the Blue Shield)
CREST (Helmet) INTERPRETATION:
Out of a Crest Coronet, upon a Vol, the Arms of the Shield - (Means the same Fesses as in the Shield are placed upon the
Upraised Wings that are also conjoined at the base (Vol) and this all "comes out" (issues) from a Crest Coronet (often called a "Ducal Coronet"),
which is a "Crown-like" device that has no significance except either for Helmet decoration or to signify Government Service - it's always drawn with
only 3 of its 4 Strawberry leaves shown & without jewels. This Crest is then affixed to the Helmet,
which is drawn in Profile with its Visor Closed, or with no Visor nor Grilles - the kind used by a "Bürgerliche" (Esquire/Commoner/Citizen))
SYMBOLISM:
Crown (Coronet) - (Authority)
Note: Because it isn't specifically deScribed in writing, it's unknown whether the Crest Coronet is just an
heraldic adornment (a common practice) or signifies Government Service (also a common practice).
Fess - (Military belt or girdle of honor)
Vol (Wings) - (Swiftness, protection, celebrity, or coverture)
Colors:
Argent (Silver) - (Peace and sincerity)
Azure (Blue) - (Loyalty and truth)
