REFERENCE SOURCE:

ARMS (Shield) INTERPRETATION:
Argent - (Means the Shield is Silver (Argent=Silver))
three fishhooks paleways - (Means, 3 Fish Hooks are to be placed on the Shield "aligned" vertically (Paleways))
two in chief affrontee - (Means, 2 of the 3 Fish Hooks are to be placed on the top 1/3rd of the Shield (Chief) & are to be "facing" each other (Affrontee))
one in base hook to sinister sable - (Means, the 3rd Fish Hook is to be placed on the bottom 1/3rd of the Shield (Base), with its Hook facing to the Viewers right (Sinister) and all 3 of the Fish Hooks are to be black (Sable=Black))

CREST (Helmet) INTERPRETATION:
On a Torse of the colors - (Means the next thing deScribed will go upon a cloth wreath (Torse) of 6 twists, alternating between the primary tinctures)
between a Vol Argent - (Means "Something" (to be deScribed later) goes between a pair of Silver (Argent=Silver) uplifted Wings conjoined at the base (Vol))
each wing charged with a hook of the arms as those in chief - (Means each Wing of the Vol will have placed (Charged) upon it a Fish Hook just like the ones in the top 1/3rd (Chief) of the Shield (Arms))
the hook of the arms in base sable - (Means the "Something" that goes between the wings of the Vol is a Fish Hook just like the one in the bottom 1/3rd (Base) of the Shield and all of the Fish Hooks are to be Black (Sable=Black), and then it's all affixed by the Torse, together with the Mantling, to the Helmet, which is drawn in Profile with the Visor closed or with no Visor nor Grilles - the kind used by a "Bürgerliche" (Esquire/Commoner/Citizen))

SYMBOLISM:
Vol (Wings) - (Swiftness, protection, celebrity, or coverture)
Colors:
Argent (Silver) - (Peace and sincerity)
Sable (Black) - (Constancy, sometimes grief)
