BLAZONING OF THE KLEMMER COAT OF ARMS

BLAZON (Wappen der Familie Klemmer):
ARMS (Shield):

Quarterly, 1st: or, a lion rampant gules, armed azure and crowned of the first; 2nd: argent, issuing from a mount, three trefoils stemmed as one, vert.
CREST (Helmet):
On a torse of the colors between a vol per fesse the dexter gules and argent, the sinister or and sable, a lion rampant gules
MANTLE (Decken):
Not deScribed (Mantling is seldom deScribed and usually takes the Primary Tinctures, and/or adheres to the Crest)

MOTTO:
None recorded (It is rare for the German Achievement to deScribe a motto)

REFERENCE SOURCE:

ARMS (Shield) INTERPRETATION:
Quarterly, 1st: or, a lion rampant gules, armed azure and crowned of the first - (Means the Shield is divided into Quarters and the 1st (& 4th) Quarters will each be Golden (Or=Gold) & each will have a Red (Gules=Red) Lion that is in a "Rampaging" (Rampant) attitude/orientaion & he has Blue (Azure=Blue) Claws (Armed), & he's also wearing a Coronet (Crowned) that is Golden (of the first - 1st color mentioned was Gold (Or)))
Note: to those who've noticed that the Golden Coronet upon the Golden Shield, breaks one of the cardinal Tincture rules of Heraldry, please do not be alarmed, as this is very common in the German achievement.

2nd: argent, issuing from a mount, three trefoils stemmed as one, vert - (Means the 2nd (& 3rd) Quarters will each be Silver (Argent=Silver) & will each have 3 Green (Vert=Green) "Shamrocky" like devices (Trefoils) that are stemmed as one & "come out from" (Issue) a Green (Vert) Grassy Hill or Mound (Mount))

CREST (Helmet) INTERPRETATION:
On a Torse of the colors - (Means the next thing deScribed will go upon a cloth wreath (Torse) of 6 twists, alternating between the primary tinctures)
between a vol - (Means "Something" (to be deScribed later) will go between a pair of uplifted Wings conjoined at the base (Vol))
per fesse - (Means the Wings are divided in half horizontally)
the dexter gules and argent - (Means the Wing to the viewers left (Dexter) is Red (Gules=Red) on top & Silver (Argent) on bottom)
the sinister or and sable - (Means the top half of the Wing to the viewers right (Sinister) is Golden (Or=Gold) & the bottom half is Black (Sable=Black))
a lion rampant gules - (Means we now find out that the "Something" that goes between the wings of the Vol, is a Lion like the one in the Shield, except that it's Red (Gules=Red)) - this Vol & Lion Crest is then affixed, by the Torse, together with the Mantling, to the Helmet, which is drawn in Profile with the Visor closed or with No Visor nor Grilles - the kind used by a "Bürgerliche" (Esquire/Commoner/Citizen))

SYMBOLISM:
Crowned - (Authority)
Lion - (Courage)
Mount - (Unknown - (Very common German device))
Trefoil - (Perpetuity)
Vol (Wings) - (Swiftness, protection, celebrity, or coverture)
Colors:
Argent (Silver) - (Peace and sincerity)
Azure (Blue) - (Loyalty and truth)
Gules (Red) - (Military fortitude and magnanimity)
Or (Gold) - (Generosity)
Sable (Black) - (Constancy, sometimes grief)
