BLAZONING OF THE KILIAN COAT OF ARMS

BLAZON:
ARMS (Shield):

Per fess, or over azure, the first charged with an eagle sable beaked and armed gules, the second charged with three mullets argent
CREST (Helmet):
On a torse of the colors a demi-vol argent
MANTLE:
Azure and Or (Mantling is seldom deScribed like this and then only when other than the Primary Tinctures are to be used)

ARMS (Shield) INTERPRETATION:
Per Fess, or over azure - (Means the Shield is divided in half horizontally with the top half golden (Or=Gold) and the bottom half blue (Azure=Blue))
the first charged with an eagle - (Means the Golden half (1st color mentioned) will have an Eagle placed (Charged) upon it - the Eagle is to be drawn "Displayed" (Wings outstretched) unless deScribed otherwise by the Heraldic Scribe)
sable beaked and armed gules - (Means the Eagle is Black (Sable=Black) and its Beak & Talons are colored Red (Gules=Red))
the second charged with three mullets argent - (Means 3 Stars (Mulletts) of 5 points each (5 is implied), and colored Silver (Argent=Silver) are placed (Charged) upon the half of the Shield that was of the second color mentioned, which was blue (Azure=Blue) and the Stars are arranged 2 & 1 if not deScribed otherwise)

CREST (Helmet) INTERPRETATION:
On a Torse of the colors - (Means the next thing deScribed will go upon a cloth wreath (Torse) of 6 twists, alternating between the primary tinctures)
A Demi-Vol argent - (Means only the Sinister (viewers right) half of a pair of Silver (Argent=Silver) upraised wings conjoined at the base - a Demi-Vol) is affixed by the Torse (together with the Mantling to the Helmet, which is drawn in Profile with its Visor Closed, or with no Visor nor Grilles - the kind used by an Esquire/Commoner/Citizen)

SYMBOLISM:
Eagle displayed - (Protection)
Star (Mullet) - (Divine quality from above; mark of cadency of the 3rd son)
Vol (Wings) - (Swiftness, protection, celebrity, or coverture)
Colors:
Argent (Silver) - (Peace and sincerity)
Azure (Blue) - (Loyalty and truth)
Gules (Red) - (Military fortitude and magnanimity)
Or (Gold) - (Generosity)
Sable (Black) - (Constancy, sometimes grief)
