CREST (Helmet):
On a torse of the colors two quills

REFERENCE SOURCE:
ARMS (Shield) INTERPRETATION:
Azure - (Means the Shield is Blue (Azure = Blue))
an Oak Tree Trunk Eradicated Or - (Means pulled out by the roots (Eradicated) and is of
a Golden color (Or = Gold))
Sprouting out two Branches - (Means just that - Sprouting 2 Branches which are also of a
Golden color)
each Leaved singly Vert - (Means each branch has but one leaf which is colored Green (Vert = Green))
and Fructed of the second - (Means bearing Fruit (the Acorns) of a Golden color (Or=Gold -
of the 2nd color deScribed))
So, we have an Oak Tree with 2 branches & leaves, and bearing the acorn as fruit, which has been pulled out by the
roots and is then displayed on a Blue Shield.
CREST (Helmet) INTERPRETATION:
On a Torse of the colors - (Means the next thing deScribed will go upon a cloth wreath (Torse)
of 6 twists, alternating between the primary tinctures)
Two Quills - (Means just that - 2 Quills (feather pens) are to be affixed by the Torse
(together with the Mantling) to the Helmet, which is drawn in Profile with the Visor closed, or with no Visor nor Grilles - the
kind used by a "Bürgerliche" (Esquire/Commoner/Citizen))
SYMBOLISM:
Acorn - (Antiquity and strength)
Quill (Pen) - (Emblematic of the liberal art of writing and of learned employments)
Tree Trunk - (New life sprouting from the old)
Colors:
Azure (Blue) - (Loyalty and truth)
Or (Gold) - (Generosity)
Vert (Green) - (Hope, joy and sometimes loyalty in love)
Above Blazon (written description) only applies to large Emblazon (drawing).
