BLAZONING OF THE FUCHS COAT OF ARMS

BLAZON (Wappen der Familie Fuchs):
ARMS (Shield):

Argent, upon a trimount in base vert a fox rampant proper, upon a canton sinister gules a mullet or
CREST (Helmet):
Non
MANTLE (Decken):
Not deScribed (Mantling is seldom deScribed unless other than the Primary Tinctures are to be used)

MOTTO:
None Recorded (Common for the German Achievement)

REFERENCE SOURCE:
Armorial General by J.B. Rietstap

ARMS (Shield) INTERPRETATION:
Argent - (Means the Shield is Silver (Argent=Silver - depicted as White))
upon a Trimount in base vert a Fox rampant proper - (Means a rampaging (Rampant - an "attitudinal orientation") Fox that is colored as a Fox naturally would be colored by using all of the Heraldic colors (proper) is placed upon the Shield standing on a green (Vert) mound (Trimount) which is at the bottom (Base) of the Shield)
upon a Canton sinister Gules a Mullet Or - (Means a Red (Gules=Red) "square" (Canton) is placed upon the Shield & is aligned opposite of "normal" (to the viewers upper right corner (Sinister) of the Shield) & the Canton also has a Golden (Or) Star (Mullet=Star of 5 points unless deScribed otherwise) upon itself
NOTE: The Canton was often used for Cadency (aka Differencing) to depict different offspring because it was easy to change the color and/or add different Charges, (such as the Mullet (Star), in this case), which would denote the 3rd Son...))

CREST (Helmet) INTERPRETATION:
Non - (Means no known Crest was deScribed to be affixed by the Torse (wreath of cloth with 6 twists, alternating between the primary tinctures) together with the Mantling, to the Helmet, which is drawn in Profile with the Visor closed, or with no Visor nor Grilles - the kind used by a "Bürgerliche" (Esquire/Commoner/Citizen))

SYMBOLISM:
Canton - (Bearing of honor. When borne charged, it often contains some special symbols granted by the sovereign in reward for the performance of eminent service.)
Fox - (One who will use all that they may possess of wisdom and wit in their own defense)
Star (Mullet) - (Divine quality from above; mark of cadency of the 3rd son)
Trimount - (Symbolism unknown - very common German device)
Colors:
Argent (Silver) - (Peace and sincerity)
Gules (Red) - (Military fortitude and magnanimity)
Or (Gold) - (Generosity)
Vert (Green) - (Hope, joy and sometimes loyalty in love)

Above Blazon (written description) only applies to large Emblazon (drawing).
