BLAZONING OF THE EVANS COAT OF ARMS

ARMS (Shield):
Argent, three boars' heads couped close sable langued gules
CREST (Helmet):
On a torse of the colors a demi lion rampant reguardant or holding between the paws a boar's head, as in the arms
MANTLE:
Not deScribed (Mantling is seldom deScribed and usually takes the Tinctures of the Shield)
MOTTO:
Libertas

REFERENCE SOURCE:

ARMS (Shield) INTERPRETATION:
Argent - (Means the Shield is Silver (depicted as white))
3 Boars Heads - (Means 3 Boars Heads are added to the Shield in the usual arrangement - as it wasn't specifically deScribed. That is: facing Dexter (viewers left), 2 to Chief (Top of Shield), 1 to Base (Bottom of Shield), usually deScribed as "2 & 1".)
couped - (Means cutoff cleanly)(NOTE: our BoarsHeads actually are drawn a little closer to "Erased" than "Couped")
close - (Means at the neck)
sable - (Means black)
langued gules - (Means their tongues are Red (Gules=Red))
So, we have 3 Black Boars Heads, cleanly chopped off at the neck, with red tongues, placed on a Silver Shield in the usual arrangement.

CREST (Helmet) INTERPRETATION:

On a Torse of the colors - (Means the next thing deScribed will go upon a cloth wreath (Torse) of 6 twists, alternating between the primary tinctures)
A Demi Lion - (Means the top half of a Lion (Male unless otherwise deScribed) is affixed to the Helmet)
Rampant - (Means a rampaging (Rampant) Lion in profile, Raised up on his hauches as if to fight)
Reguardant - (Means he's looking backward over his "shoulder")
Or - (Means gold (depicted as yellow))
Holding between the paws a Boars Head (Means just that)
as in the arms - (Means a Boars Head just like the ones in the Arms (Shield))
So, we have the top half of a standing Gold Lion, in profile, looking over his shoulder while holding a Boars Head, affixed by the Wreath (Torse) together with the Mantling to the Helmet, which is drawn in Profile with its Visor Closed, or with no Visor nor Grilles - the kind used by an (Esquire/Commoner/Citizen))

SYMBOLISM:
Boars head - (Hospitality)
Lion - (Courage)
Colors:
Argent (Silver) - (Peace and sincerity)
Or (Gold) - (Generosity)
Sable (Black) - (Constancy, sometimes grief)
